Westwood Village

Westwood Village is halfway between downtown Los Angeles and the Ocean, bordered by Hollywood and Beverly Hills to the East, Brentwood (home of OJ and Marilyn Monroe) to the West, and Bel Air to the North. Until ten years ago it was in a state of decline, but now urban gentrification and housing prices have caught up with the rest of northern LA. There are several one screen movie houses in the area owned by the studios. Hollywood traffic prevents large scale premiere events there, so many of the star studed galas are held here. In the past few weeks I’ve seen Ice Cube at the Premiere for Triple XXX and Bradjelina at the premiere for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Although some of the more fortunate students live in the area, the professors must live elsewhere, for a three bedroom ranch goes for about a million…
