Publishing

Welcome to my workshop. This is actually a work in progress, not even a garage industry, still at the "picnic table" stage and more of a hobby. Usually when I mention the term "alternative press" I get one of three responses. From those a bit younger I usually get interested responses, but with a blind, youthful kind of enthusiasm. From those my age or a bit older, I usually get a long sigh and first person accounts of total failure. If I dare to mention such an idea to someone older, or a professor, I usually get looks like I'm some kind of child talking about my Halloween costume. So I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time with any sort of talk about an "alternative press." At one point I thought of paying one of these self-publishing houses to print out a few dozen copies of some of my writing, but thought the rates were rather high. So I took apart a few paperbacks and played around a bit with some glue and computer printed pages. Mankind has been making books since the dark ages, after all. I don't know where I'm going with this venture, but if anyone wants to discuss the idea, drop me a line at fiencke@hotmail.com.
