The Mojave Desert
| Beth wanted to see the desert during her visit, so one Saturday we headed northeast out of LA towards Vegas on route 15 through Barstow. About halfway to Vegas lies the “ghost town” of Calico. The place is a “restored” ghost town, not quite authentic, but still an interesting destination for those interested in cheesy tourist attractions, if you can tolerate seeing cowboy performers talking on cell phones. We also had a chance to do some outlet shopping and do a bit of off roading. | |
