| Just
like the outdoor pools in southern California, Disneyland is open year
round and in January the lines are pretty short. I came here last when
I was 15 in 1990 and since then they have added the "Disney California
Adventure" park which is of course a separate admission. The scope
of the operation is just as astounding now that I'm all grown up as when
I was a kid, and the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is that much cooler
after seeing the movie.
However, as
an adult I can appreciate the park for different reasons. While standing
in line with fifty other people to buy a five dollar large cinnamon roll
I can admire the way the place shakes the money right out of your pockets,
tens of millions of dollars a day. And now they have a complex electronic
fast pass ticketing system which makes it possible to avoid hour long
waits for some of the rides. At my more advanced age now I should of known
better than to go on Space Mountain right after gorging on burgers and
fries...yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me! |
