| For Beth’s birthday we spent a weekend in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. There are natural underground mineral streams that stay at a constant warm temperature merging in a gorge. This phenomenon was first surveyed by a 16 year old George Washington in 1748, and the resort town was established shortly thereafter. The town is still thriving today with bed and breakfasts, art galleries, restaurants, and of course several spas. There’s lots of hiking in the area, low cost massages, and other fun stuff like horseback riding. Just a 90 minute drive from downtown DC, it’s a great weekend getaway. |
