Upstate Michigan
Betsy and I spent a few days hanging out at her Grandma’s cottage in upstate Michigan. The area is a retreat for Midwesterners escaping the heat and humidity of places like Chicago and Detroit. On one side there was Lake Michigan, and on the other side there was Crystal Lake (yeah, like in Friday the Thirteenth). The waters there were clear and warm, and without any rocks. The temps rarely get above the 70’s and during the summer the sun sets at 9:30. It was a relaxing few days and there was plenty of hiking, canoeing, and other fun outdoorsy stuff.
