Welcome to my site! This page started as a final project for a basic web design class during this summer and I thought it would be a great place to post some of my stories, pictures, rants, and writing for anyone who's interested. Right now it's just an advanced form of "blogging" and also a way to keep up with all my far-flung friends and family. Sign up for the mailing list or post comments on the bulletin board if you wish. About the title--back in my teens I was really into Jack Kerouac, and although my tastes have expanded since then, I always thought "diamonds in the sidewalk" would be a great name to put on something. Supposedly during all of his travels and writings he was looking for something beautiful amongst the dirty streets he wandered but I guess he never found it.

Writing

Over the past few years I've written several dozen fiction and nonfiction pieces, as well as a 70,000 word novel called "The Empty Quarter". See some of my work here.

Blogging on livejournal-thought I'd give the old blog thing a try. I put a few entries on livejournal.com under "roguelibrarian" but don't really know anybody on it. To join in, click here
